On Sept 11, my oldest son's then- girlfriend lost her brother at WTC; he worked at Cantor Fitzgerald. On Sept 11, my ex-husband, who worked at the Pentagon, called to let me and our children know he was safe.
On Sept 11, the United States of America changed forever. We did not know it yet.  Since then, our civil liberties have eroded, our freedoms been curtailed.
We lost a great deal more than a couple of buildings and 3000 people that day.
